Handel - Ariodante - Opera in the concert version

The opera Ariodante is one of Handel's major works from 1733-1736, along with Orlando and Alcina.The story is inspired by three songs from the epic poem Orlando furioso by Ariosto. A simple, violent and ageless story that unfolds in chivalrous colours, resonant of the movements of the human heart.The five main characters are united by a single emotional chain: Lurcanio loves Dalinda who loves Polinesso who loves Ginevra who loves Ariodante. Two couples are formed, for whom Handel reserves unforgettable melodies.
